My personal profile for October of 2008. I usually don't create designs as PSDs to later be coded. I usually do the opposite. The PSD is well over 100 layers, and it contains a fair share of rollovers. It's also a guilty pleasure profile. That means it was all for me, and I didn't really care about too many browsers or slower connection speeds. At a ridiculous 12MB uncompressed, 3MB final, it takes a while to load.

Top:
I made the profile from top down, and this part was just an excuse to make an ostentatious banner to kick things off.

Middle:
This section underwent probably four remakes before I settled. I reused a piece from last year's profile. The comment section I made following a tutorial on making custom playing cards. The Frankie monster is a reuse from last year. I cut him out of a scan of some old pepsi stuff. The lady is from the Tarantula (1955) movie poster. I made the tape and the gray link column's texture. I also had fun zombifying myself in the default photo.

Bottom:
This part took me the longest. I made the mattress myself from a 2D bed sheet texture. The feet were simply cut out of a photo and I zombified them. I added a mattress tag with my logo, blood stains, and then I made the tiled wall. The wall and the bed contrast a lot since the bed makes you think "bedroom," while the wall makes you think, "dirty hospital." Furthermore, I zombified another Masuimi Max cutout and made her appear to be jamming a surgical tool into the corpse's head.

Friend Section:
This new addition is separate from the rest of the profile and was made in Flash 8 Pro. It starts as a sort of easter egg; a clipboard that's part of the blurred wall. But if you click on it you're taken to a file folder. Inside you can see the "death certificates" of my top six friends. Made most of the graphics myself, but also used a fair share of some Gomedia vectors.
